Tybee Surf Lessons – Terms & Conditions
By booking any lesson, camp, package, or program with Tybee Surf Lessons, you agree to the following terms and policies.
Surf Lesson Cancellations
All lesson cancellations require both email and text notification.
Customers may cancel within 24 hours of purchase at no cost.
No-shows are not eligible for refunds.
Parties arriving late for group lessons will forfeit missed time.
Group lesson arrivals 30 minutes or more after the scheduled start time may be canceled and are non-refundable, unless prior arrangements have been made with the instructor.
If Tybee Surf Lessons cancels or reschedules a lesson for any reason, the session will be rescheduled at no charge.
Our instructors often forgo shifts at other jobs to commit to scheduled lessons and are compensated regardless of attendance.
Surf Camp Cancellations & Attendance
All surf camp registrations are non-refundable.
There are no refunds or makeups for missed camp days.
No-shows are not eligible for refunds.
Only siblings may be registered together and may qualify for sibling discounts.
Please contact our office as soon as possible regarding emergency situations.
If Tybee Surf Lessons cancels a camp session for any reason other than weather, participants may be eligible for a makeup session at a later date, pending availability.
Weather & Ocean Conditions
Programs operate rain or shine.
Surf conditions, tides, weather, and ocean safety are evaluated daily.
In the event of lightning or unsafe conditions, the beach will be evacuated and parents will be contacted for camper pickup.
On days with storm threats, please check our Facebook page for weather updates.
Tybee Surf Lessons averages fewer than two weather-related cancellations per season.
No-Wave Policy
If surf conditions do not provide waves at least one foot high:
Surf Camps will shift to ukulele instruction and beach-based water activities.
Surf & SUP lessons will be rescheduled.
Communication
Lesson and camp details are sent via email after booking.
The lead instructor will text meet-up location and final details either the day before or the morning of the session.
Please respond promptly to instructor communications to ensure proper preparation.
If we are unable to answer calls while teaching, please leave a voicemail or email us at Turner@tybeesurflessons.com, and we will respond as soon as possible.
Tardiness & Arrival Times
Summers on Tybee Island can involve heavy traffic and limited parking.
We recommend arriving before 9:00 AM on regular days and earlier on major holidays.
Lesson start times will not be delayed due to late arrivals.
It is the customer’s responsibility to arrive on time and prepared.
Gift Certificates & Lesson Packages
Unless otherwise noted, gift certificates and lesson packages expire by August 22 of the year they are issued.
No refunds are provided for unused lessons or expired packages.
GoPro Media Packages
Clients must enter a valid email address and cell phone number at checkout to receive GoPro media.
GoPro weblinks are emailed within one week.
Tybee Surf Lessons is not responsible for delays or incomplete delivery due to:
Incorrect contact information
Weather conditions
Acts of God or unforeseen circumstances
Military Discount
Active-duty military members receive 10% off with valid military ID.
Military ID must be shown to the instructor at the start of the lesson.
If ID is not provided or the discount is misused, the 10% discount will be removed and charged to the original payment method.
Assumption of Risk & Liability
Surfing and ocean activities involve inherent risks. By participating, customers acknowledge and accept these risks and agree to follow all instructor safety guidelines. Tybee Surf Lessons, its owners, instructors, and affiliates are not responsible for injury, loss, or damage except where required by law.

By booking with Tybee Surf Lessons, you agree to receive transactional emails and text messages related to your booking, including meet-up locations, schedule updates, and safety information. Message and data rates may apply.

Media & Photography
Tybee Surf Lessons may take photos or videos during lessons and camps for promotional and marketing purposes, including use on our website and social media. If you do not wish to have your or your child’s image used, please notify us in writing prior to your session.
